Josh Labrie - Director

Josh has more than 10 years of experience in STEM education including teaching chemistry and physical science during his nine-year tenure at PWCS. While earning a bachelor's in chemistry and a master's in teaching at the University of Virginia, he conducted epilepsy research and worked for the VDOT Research Council and the School of Engineering in the development and teaching of engineering kits to foster interest and excitement in STEM.

In addition, he taught for Upward Bound, the Minorities Introduction to Engineering Program, and UVA's Summer Enrichment Program. While teaching in middle school he became involved in engineering via VEX robotics and expanded NOVA's summer robotics camps throughout the region. As director for NOVA SySTEMic, Josh leads multiple programs and provides STEM opportunities in K-12 and higher education in NOVA's service area.
