Brendan Murphy - STEM Coordinator

Brendan is a Virginia native with over 14 years of STEM experience. He earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and began his career as a Civil Engineer in the Philadelphia area. He worked in several areas of civil engineering including highway design, intelligent transportation systems, railway, and construction. After finding his passion for teaching through teaching drumlines and drum corps, he took his industry experience to the classroom where he developed and taught a 4-year high school Engineering course.

Brendan keeps busy by hiking, teaching drums, playing golf, traveling whenever and wherever possible, and volunteering with the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association as the Membership Chairperson. He is excited to return to his hometown to support and grow the NOVA SySTEMic Team to develop STEM Education opportunities in Northern Virginia.
