Aleks Marthinussen

Aleksander Marthinussen - Program Manager

Aleks holds a master's degree in aerospace engineering from Narvik University College in Norway, where he was born and raised. Before relocating to the U.S. in 2008, he worked for the European Space Agency, Norwegian Space Center, and Andoya Rocketrange with student outreach and teacher professional development in STEM.

During this time Aleks started a Norwegian national student satellite program for higher education institutions, taught electronics at the high school level, and launched several student sounding-rockets as payload supervisor.
While growing up in Norway, Aleks was very involved in basketball, coaching local, regional, and national teams. He also held leadership positions in local, regional, and national clubs and organizations.

Prior to joining NOVA SySTEMic in January 2013, Aleks worked for a non-profit organization in West Virginia with outreach and teacher development geared towards STEM and Aerospace in particular. While in WV he served as a state coordinator and mentor for national STEM competitions such as the Real World Design Challenge and Team America Rocketry Challenge.
