March 19, 2020
Dear NOVA Nighthawks,
This has been a time of uncertainty for everyone, so I would like to begin this message by letting you know that the resilience of our Nighthawk students is amazing – you are amazing. The NOVA community is here for you.
REMOTE INSTRUCTION EXTENDED
NOVA is extending remote instruction for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. We feel this is the right decision required to safeguard the health and safety of our Nighthawk community. This was not an easy decision but it was made based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the ongoing increasing cases of COVID-19 in our region, and our concern for your health and safety. Your faculty will be in contact with you soon about completing the semester remotely.
In light of the impact of COVID-19 on all social gatherings, we are unable to provide any student support services on our campuses at this time. All student support services will be provided remotely for the remainder of the semester. Your continued success is our priority, so please be sure to reach out to your faculty and our student support offices if you need assistance.
Please take care and keep up your COVID-19 preventive measures. Please remember you can find all our central communications, FAQ’s and remote resources on the College’s COVID-19 website.
As always, if you have questions, do not hesitate to contact our Office of Emergency Management at OEM@nvcc.edu or me directly.
Frances Villagran-Glover , D.A.
