As an Achieving the Dream network college, NOVA is expected to continually identify, evaluate, and publish the goals and outcomes for student achievement appropriate to the institution’s mission, the nature of the students it serves, and the kinds of programs offered. NOVA uses multiple measures to document student success.
NOVA’s Office of Institutional Research (OIR) has developed an ongoing process to continually conduct research studies and publish reports that help faculty, administrators, policymakers, and community leaders advance students’ access to and success within and beyond the College. OIR produces NOVA’s annual Fact Book, which presents data on the College’s student enrollment, graduates and transfers, finances and facilities, personnel, student services, community education, and international students. OIR also produces numerous research reports each year that address standard and special topics pertaining to the College’s educational activities and programs.
To exceed ATD expectations, NOVA publishes reports about student achievement such as: college readiness, developmental course placement, advising and new student orientation, course success, GPA, credit hours, academic status, retention, completion, graduation, transfer and more.
