Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus will host the 2017 NOVA JobCon, a week of workshops and lectures covering job and career preparation. This event will take place April 3-6 as part of Student Career Success Week at the Alexandria Campus, 5000 Dawes Ave., Alexandria, VA.
The various workshops and lectures throughout the week will help students use library resources, prepare for interviews, create and write resumes and cover letters and understand the importance of financial literacy. The first of its kind at NOVA, the 2017 NOVA JobCon was organized by the Alexandria Campus Library with assistance and contributions from different departments on campus. The 2017 NOVA JobCon is open to students from all six NOVA campuses.
The Alexandria Campus Job Fair is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center, 4915 East Campus Dr., Alexandria VA. More than 20 employers are registered to participate including the Alexandria Police Department, BB&T, City of Alexandria, the National Student Clearing House, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, United Bank, Two Men & A Truck and the United States Marine Corps.
