NOVA-Annandale partners with NBC4, Allstate to host community shred

Northern Virginia Community College will partner with NBC4 (WRC-TV) again this year to host a community shred event from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2 at the Annandale Campus in the B-15 parking lot, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale. The gate for entry will open at 7 a.m. Participants can enter the campus on Lake Drive from Little River Turnpike and follow posted directions.

NOVA has partnered with NBC4 and local organizations for this event multiple times in the past. This year, NBC4 has partnered with Allstate and Shred-It to bring the metropolitan Washington D.C. area Community Shred events. Each year, about 2,000 cars line up at the community shred at NOVA-Annandale. Fairfax County’s Office of Solid Waste Management helps NOVA Police officers and parking staff set up the parking lot to accommodate the large amount of incoming cars.

Those planning to attend should be in line no later than 11 a.m. There is a five-box maximum, and organizers ask that attendees not bring batteries, flammables, electronic equipment, CDs, DVDs or binders. This event provides a safe way to get rid of personal documents such as old bank statements. For more information, visit: http://nbc4dc.com/z5utQB8.
