More than 120 people attended the recent Adjunct Recruitment Fairs held at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
“This was a great turnout from the community and we enjoyed meeting everybody who came out to learn about teaching opportunities at the Manassas Campus,” said Dr. Charlene Phillips, head of the committee that organized the fairs. “We also appreciate the NOVA employees and students who worked during the two events. More than 70 faculty, staff and students made the events run smoothly.”
The purpose of the recruitment fairs was to identify qualified candidates and help them through the hiring process so they are available when new professors are needed.
“With a pool of pre-screened instructors, we can better serve our students by offering new classes and having the flexibility to add sections of popular courses,” Phillips said.
Because the recruitment fairs were so successful, the campus will hold another event during the summer.
