On Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m., nine of NOVA’s top singing sensations will battle for the title of this year’s NOVA Idol. In addition, four students from area high schools will compete in a separate competition that evening to win the high school division.
In its eighth year, NOVA Idol continues to be a popular college-wide event with more than 250 students from NOVA’s six campuses making up the competition pool. Every year, the votes of both audiences and judges determine the first, second and third place winners. The grand prize winner will receive $4,000 and eight hours of studio time plus a sound engineer, courtesy of Cue Studio’s Center for Audio Engineering, to be used to create a demo album. Second and third places will receive awards of $2,500 and $1,000, respectively.
Tony Perkins will make a repeat guest appearance as a celebrity judge. Perkins is the Fox 5 Morning News weather personality for WTTG in Washington, D.C.
