Free symphony performance Aug. 27 at NOVA-Manassas

The Manassas Symphony Orchestra will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Mary Louise Jackson Amphitheater at Northern Virginia Community College, 6901 Sudley Road, Manassas. The venue will open at 7 p.m. with free parking next to the amphitheater.
Conducted by Michelle Rupert, the orchestra will present “Soundtracks of Summer,” featuring music from popular movie soundtracks such as “Star Wars,” “On Golden Pond,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Mr. Holland’s Opus.”
The performance is part of the Summer Evenings Under the Stars series, made possible with funding from the NVCC Educational Foundation.
