Career Training Open House on September 8 at NOVA-Annandale

Northern Virginia Community College is hosting a free Career Training Open House on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ernst Cultural Center on NOVA’s Annandale Campus, 8333 Little River Turnpike.

Attendees will learn about more than 50 affordable career training programs in health care, business, information technology, trades and more. Workshops will cover financial aid and scholarship resources.

Participating nonprofit programs include Northern Virginia Family Services’ Training Futures office skills training program, Year Up’s information technology program, Computer CORE’s basic computer training program, EDG’s entrepreneurial studies program, Goodwill’s job readiness training program, and Community Association Management training with The Community Associations Institute.

Public agencies that provide resources for career training, such as SkillSource and Virginia Employment Commission, will supply information and answer questions. In addition, NOVA representatives will discuss both credit and continuing education training programs.
