Student art show features promising artists

November 11, 2009

“Carl’s,” painted by Stanley Kayes of Marshall, Va., is on display at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College along with other student artwork.

Student artwork will be on display until Dec. 4 in Colgan Hall at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. The exhibition is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.

The paintings, drawings and designs were created by students in art classes taught by Randy Michener, head of the Manassas Campus Fine Arts Program.

“I have some very talented artists in my classes this semester and it’s a real pleasure to watch them develop their skills,” Michener said.
