Manassas Campus and National Young Readers Day Activities

On November 12, Provost Hortense Hinton and11 Manassas Campus students participated in National Young Readers Day through the Prince William Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce (PWCGMCC), Education Committee and their service learning project under the guidance of English Faculty Gay Church.
The NOVA students read for over three hours to almost 40 classes of students at Mullen Elementary School in Manassas. The students will return to read to the children at the end of the month to finish their service learning project. The Manassas Campus and Mullen Elementary School will continue their partnership with additional service learning projects in the spring semester. Faculty and staff also participated and volunteered their time to read to classes at Manassas Park Elementary School on the same day.
