Get certified in Web development at NOVA-Manassas

September 4, 2008

The Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College is offering a Web Developer Certificate Programdesigned for people who want to enter the web page development field.

The program covers the skills needed to design web pages for personal use, businesses or nonprofit organizations. Students will be exposed to the latest cutting-edge web design software while gaining the skills to create a complete Web site.

“The information technology field requires workers to be certified in their areas of expertise,” said instructor Renee Kesner. “People who complete the Web Developer Certificate Program will be able to verify they have the appropriate skills for these jobs.”

Courses in the program include HTML Levels 1 and 2, Photoshop CS3 Levels 1 and 2, Dreamweaver CS3 Levels 1 and 2, Fireworks CS3, and Flash CS3. Each course consists of two hands-on lectures and one lab, and students must complete all sessions to earn the certificate.

The first course begins Sept. 9.  To learn more, call 703-257-6632 or go to www.nvcc.edu/manassas/continuing.
