Northern Virginia Community College launches new Web site
April 1, 2008
Northern Virginia Community College recently launched an updated Web site with new content, new photos and new applications to help visitors find the information they need quickly and easily. The Web address remains http://www.nvcc.edu.
“We think users will like the clean look and simple navigation,” said Cathy Simpson, director of the College’s Technology Applications Center. “The redesigned site highlights our students, faculty and staff through stories and photos. In addition, we added a few new bells and whistles, including a virtual tour.”
Commonly requested information is readily accessible from the home page which features links to academics, campuses, news and events, and more.
The College worked with Ripple Effects Interactive (REI) for more than a year on the update. Before making recommendations, REI completed an extensive strategy report based on target audience research, review of higher education Web sites and best practices in interactive Web site design. Throughout the process, focus groups reviewed the design choices and provided feedback.
