WHERE: NOVA’s Loudoun Campus, 21200 Campus Drive, Sterling, Va.
Northern Virginia Community College will once again host the annual Loudoun County STEM Day on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., at NOVA’s Loudoun Campus. This is a collaborative effort between NOVA, Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, Loudoun County Public Schools and NOVA SySTEMic Solutions to expose Loudoun County youth to opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields in a new, fun and collaborative environment. Designed for students of all ages, the day features hands-on exhibits, workshops, food and music in a festival-like atmosphere. Participants may wander through the Exploring Mars Exhibit with NASA, investigate drones and how they can impact wildlife conservation with the Kashmir World Foundation, experience underwater remote operated vehicles with the Carderock Naval Surface Warfare Division, check out the Science Center, catch the Horticulture bug with Piranha Plants and Insect Armageddon, find out about the science that moves you through the world of Pokemon Go!, trigger your creativity with computer game design and, of course, make your next move with Robotics, 3-D printing and much more.
