Today is Giving Tuesday, an opportunity to give back as we enter the holiday season, and a new year, I’m hoping you will join in NOVA’s inaugural food-raising campaign, Making Spirits Bright $20 at a Time.
Each $20 donated will buy a grocery store gift card for our NOVA Nighthawks in need, enabling our students to feed themselves and their families while our food pantries remain closed due to the pandemic. Students will be qualified to receive the grocery cards through NOVA’s Single Stop services, which will also connect them to social services and benefits—such as SNAP—that can support their academic success.
To kick off the Making Spirits Bright campaign, Administrative Council has donated $3,500, which will fund 175 grocery cards, and we are hoping that your generosity will at least double this amount and fund another 175 cards … and maybe even more!
Kindness is a gift that lights a spark, and together, our amazing NOVA community can create a shining constellation of hope, making our students’ spirits bright this season and into the new year.
If you are able to give $20 (or more), please visit the NOVA Foundation website and select the Making Spirits Bright Campaign for your donation.
Thank you for all you do to support our students in this season and always!
