KristineKristine Winner, IIDA, IDEC, NCIDQ
Associate Professor, Interior Design
Assistant Dean, Program Head

Kristine Winner is assistant dean of the Interior Design program. She has taught courses in AutoCAD, drafting, commercial design and materials for over 16 years. Prior to joining NOVA, she practiced interior design in the area for over 20 years. During that time, she had the opportunity to work on a broad range of interior architectural projects including the design, planning and execution of large-scale government, corporate office, hospitality and historic preservation projects. Kristine is a graduate of Virginia Tech’s interior design program and she passed the National Council of Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) exam in 1985. She has served on the board of the local chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) as treasurer, membership chair, educational forum director and co-chair of continuing education. In addition, she has served on the board of the National Council for the Qualification of Lighting Professionals and on the board of the National Lighting Bureau. Kristine’s wide-ranging interests led her to earn a master’s in History of Decorative Arts from Parson’s School of Design in May 2003.

Lisa Fitzpatrick, ASID, IDEC, NCIDQ
Associate Professor, Interior Design 

Lisa Fitzpatrick joined NOVA as an assistant professor in August of 2016. She taught interior design as an adjunct at Anne Arundel Community College, Marymount University and NOVA. Lisa has Master of Arts Degree in Interior Design from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Ecology from the University of Maryland. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) where she served on numerous national committees. Lisa has been the Chapter President of both the Maryland Chapter and the Washington Metro Chapter of ASID. Lisa is a professional member of the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) and holds the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification. Her experience spans more than 20 years in the field of interior design and architecture. Lisa has worked for engineers, architects and most recently as the design principal of her own firm, Fitzpatrick Design Studio. Her design specialties include residential design, hospitality design, multi-family design and research in “Sense of Place”.
