Words matter and writers matter. Our English department encourages you to explore language and literature, from helping students craft stronger essays for any course in their college career to exploring ancient myths and dabbling in poetry and fiction writing. Our active and engaged faculty are ready to help you develop critical reading, writing and communication skills that will help you succeed in college and beyond.

Most NOVA students need at least two courses in written communication that we offer through the English department; check your degree requirements here
