Northern Virginia Community College is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination in employment and education opportunity. The EO Officer investigates and responds to complaints of discrimination from Northern Virginia Community College faculty, staff, applicants, contractors and visitors. For more information, please contact the EO Officer at eo@nvcc.edu.

NOVA faculty and staff may elect to file a complaint of discrimination via Human Resources' EO complaint process or via the applicable faculty or classified staff grievance policy and procedures, administered by Human Resources.

Once faculty or staff choose to pursue a discrimination claim under the EO complaint process, s/he is precluded from pursuing the same claim in the grievance process.

Student complaints of discrimination are processed via the Student Grievance Process.

Complaints of sex-based discrimination including, but not limited to, sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual or gender-based harassment are governed by the Sexual Misconduct Policy which also establishes procedures for incident reporting options, assessment, investigation and resolution.
