Financial Aid - Post Card Notification

The Northern Virginia Community College Financial Aid Office has received your FAFSA. Most future correspondence will come to you via your NOVA e-mail account. Please read your NOVA e-mail regularly. Access your NOVAConnect account at least weekly and respond immediately to requests for additional information.

Follow these steps:

1. Set your NOVAConnect preferences each term.

Menu>Self Service>Student Center>Personal Information>User Preferences (NVCC; Credit; Fall 2094/Spring 2102/Summer 2103; 2010 [for 2009–2010]) – SAVE

2. Check your To Do List weekly.

Menu>Self Service>Student Center>To Do List – Submit all requested documentation immediately or nothing further will be done on your file.

3. View your financial aid award.

Menu>Self Service>Student Center>Finances>View Financial Aid Award>2010 [for 2009–2010] – If you do not see an award within four weeks, make sure NOVA’s code, 003727, was listed on your FAFSA and you have submitted all requested information.

4. Check your account summary.

Menu>Self Service>Finances>Account Inquiry – If you are enrolled in fewer than 12 credits, your award will likely be reduced after the 16-week census date. Pay any portion of your bill not covered by financial aid to avoid classes being dropped.

If you need assistance in understanding your account, contact your campus Financial Aid Office.
