Adjunct Instructors Needed

All campuses of Northern Virginia Community College seek qualified part-time faculty members who share the institution’s strategic vision to create educational opportunities for all people as the Gateway to the American Dream. NOVA’s faculty embraces the rich diversity of the multicultural area that it serves and demonstrates its commitment to student success by fostering an environment of world-class teaching and learning.

Part-time (adjunct) faculty may teach virtually or in person and are especially needed in the following disciplines:

For many disciplines, a Master’s degree in the discipline or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. For some disciplines, such as Veterinary Technology, HVAC, welding and more, the minimum qualifications may depend on certifications, education, and/or work experience.

Candidates should have the following required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to use technology to enhance instruction; excellent oral/written communication skills;
  • demonstrated teaching skills;
  • Experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at NOVA.
