Open for Inclusive Excellence is a facilitated, asynchronous, online learning experience for any NOVA faculty interested in implementing open education and equitable teaching and learning practices in their courses. The five-week course will be offered from July 11 until August 12, and topics include:
- Preparing a culturally inclusive syllabi/li>
- Approaches to equitable grading
- The importance and creation of a transparent design for assignments
- The necessity and implementation of community agreements
- Open pedagogical approaches
- Recommendations and resources for open education
Any NOVA faculty member, full-time or adjunct, is invited to apply. Those who are accepted into the course, and successfully complete it, will receive a $300 stipend (note that 12-month faculty, while welcome, are not eligible for the stipend).
