| Prerequisite or corequisite is CHI 103-104 or equivalent. Introduces the reading and writing of modern standard Chinese. Emphasizes vocabulary buildup and practice in reading and writing. May be taken in conjunction with Beginning Spoken Chinese. Lecture 3 hours per week.
