Purpose: This curriculum is designed to offer students already employed in healthcare marketing the opportunity for improving skills and advancement on the job. For students interested in exploring the rapidly growing industry of healthcare marketing, this certificate is designed to acquaint students with the fundamental skills.

Recommended Preparation: The student should possess a proficiency in high school English.

Total credits for the Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations Career Studies Certificate = 29.

All first-time students must take a one-credit Student Development (STD) course prior to enrolling in their 16th credit at NVCC.

1 AST 101 may be substituted with AST 141, Word Processing I, or IST 117, Introduction to Microcomputer Software, or IST 129, Web Design I, based on student skills.

2 HLT 110 may be substituted with an HLT elective.

3 AST 253 may be substituted with AST 142, Word Processing II, AST 260, Presentation Software (after completion of AST 141), or MKT 282, Principles of eCommerce.
