[ NVCC Home Page | Catalog Search | Table of Contents | Instructional Programs | Divisions | Previous Page | Next Page ] Purpose: The curriculum will provide students with the accounting courses needed to meet the requirements of the Virginia Board for Accountancy as preparation to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (C.P.A.) examination. Most jurisdictions, if not all, require a baccalaureate degree in addition to other requirements to sit for the C.P.A. examination. It is recommended that you check with the accounting profession authority in the jurisdiction in which you plan to take the C.P.A. examination. These courses may also meet the accounting requirements for other government and private sector positions.
Total credits for the Accounting Career Studies Certificate = 27. 1 ACC 215, 219, 232, and 262 are acceptable electives.
