Prerequisite is CPR certification at the Health Care Provider level. Prepares student for certification as a Virginia and National Registry EMT/A. Includes all aspects of pre-hospital basic life support as defined by the Department of Transportation's National Curriculum for Basic Emergency Medical Technicians/Basic. Lecture 4 hours. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 8 hours per week.
