All students who have taken classes at NOVA are considered alumni of the College whether they graduated, transferred to another academic institution or just took classes on one of the campuses or through the Extended Learning Institute.

The NOVA Foundation supports and promotes the College by building relationships with individuals, businesses, and foundations in our community to fund a number of areas that impact the lives of our students and our community. Donor's gifts will assist NOVA to provide superior educational opportunities.
The Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation was established in 1979 to raise private financial support to augment programs and existing services and to attract funds to develop new courses and programs.
Funds are used to provide various types of support including scholarships, faculty development, program support and capital needs. The Foundation supports more than 200 scholarships and a wide range of academic programs throughout the college's six campuses and Extended Learning Institute.
The Alumni Federation Board of Governors awards scholarships and plans fundraisers and social events for NOVA alums. The Alumni Federation is a dynamic and expanding group that you are eligible to join if you are a graduate of NOVA or if you have taken a minimum of 30 hours and you’re in good standing at the College.
