|Gwen McCrea, Learning Specialist Liaison for the Liberal Arts Division
Gwen’s background is in lifelong learning, from outdoor learning for children to adult education. She started at NOVA as a writing consultant in the Writing Assistance Center. Gwen oversees the academic skills workshop programming, works with students individually as an academic coach, and works closely with faculty in the Liberal Arts Division. Gwen is completing her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Minnesota. |Rosemarie Harrington , Learning Specialist Liaison for Writing Across the Curriculum
For the past two years, Rosemarie Harrington has worked in the Academic Success Center as a lead consultant developing and facilitating workshops on writing topics, producing online newsletters promoting ASC services, creating training materials for tutors, and providing academic coaching to support students. Prior to that, she worked as a writing consultant on this campus for four years. Since 2010 she also has worked as a reading tutor for a non-profit organization’s after-school program in Arlington. In her new position, she is excited about finding innovative ways to help NOVA students become more confident writers for success in the classroom, in their jobs, and in their daily lives.
|Courtney Boland, Coordinator of the Academic Success Center
Courtney joined the ASC team in July 2014 from West Virginia University. The Coordinator of ACE, Courtney oversees all of ASC services and currently serves as the chair of the Tutoring Service Working Group.
