Student Profile - Anita Rios
When the time came for me to go to college, I weighed the pros and cons of the schools I considered. My goals were to find a college that is affordable and close to home. More importantly, I wanted to find a college that would allow me to continue to play volleyball after I graduated high school. It didn’t take long for me to realize that NOVA provided all that and more.
I’m a General Studies major at the Annandale Campus and so far my time here has been amazing. I like to ask questions and when I do; my professors always make time to provide me with extra help.
Playing on the NOVA volleyball team has been one of the best experiences in my entire volleyball career. I’ve built solid relationships with my teammates. If someone needs help with homework, we have homework sessions. When playing a sport, it’s important to try and develop a teamwork mentality; which is useful both on and off the court. Our team bonding has definitely helped us to form true friendships.
