About VP

VP Gabriel

Welcome to the Office of Instructional and Information Technology. This site is designed to provide you with easy access to information about technology at NOVA. Here are links to all of the offices associated with this unit. This site is where the work of the Information Technology Committee resides, including the college and campus technology plans, and where you can find all of the IT policies at NOVA.

As chief information officer, I provide leadership and administer NOVA’s information technology planning, development, acquisition, implementation, and support services. My office manages the college wide technology and distance education environments.

We support campus technology staff by ensuring adherence to minimum quality standards for on-going network operability, equipment installation and repair, database and application server operation, integration of voice/data/video networks, software installation and debugging, routine job processing, technology staff training, distance education and help-desk functions.

This office works with vice presidents, provosts, faculty, and other administrative staff to develop information technology and distance education agendas, and to provide leadership to support faculty and staff technology application development that identifies and integrates new technologies into the educational and administrative activities of the College.

Finally, this office coordinates college wide responses to VCCS technology initiatives, such as SIS and AIS conversion, and vendor certification training and participates in various College, VCCS, state and national task forces, and committees involved with technology planning and implementation.
