Antibellum Past

The 165 year old town square of Jacksonville, Alabama, contains a historical marker and a bank building recalling the town's antebellum past. Union forces invaded and damaged Jacksonville in 1862 during the War Between the States.The town's cemetery has the graves of five Generals and many Confederate and Union soldiers.
