Workforce Professional Test Center Services

What We Do

We provide secure Internet and paper-based high-stakes test proctoring services.  All test center administrators are members of the National College Testing Association

Some NOVA Testing Centers proctor correspondence exams for schools within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). If you need proctoring services for a school outside the state of Virginia, you may have exams proctored for a fee through Alexandria Workforce Development (AL), 703.845.6280 or The Center for Employment Development (CED) Annandale, 703.323.3437.

Designed to support students taking online courses at institutions other than NOVA. Email workforcetestcenter@nvcc.edu to request an appointment in advance; we are not able to accommodate walk-in appointments. NOTE: Proctoring administrative fees apply.

Testing – College Level Examination Program (CED & AL)

Anyone can schedule and complete a CLEP exam at our locations; a candidate does not need to be a student at NOVA. Click here to learn more.

DSST® Get College Credit (AL Only)

Adult learners, military personnel and veterans and homeschooled students can prove mastery of subject matter for what they already know, earn college credits, and save money on their education by passing individual exams.

Foreign Language Proficiency

NYU

New York University (NYU) Foreign Language Proficiency Exams (AL & CED)

This exam series includes over 50 different languages and is designed for students who wish to earn college credit for their native language.

English Language Proficiency

TEOFL

Test of English as a Foreign Language (CED)

Scores from this exam are used as evidence of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers planning to study at universities in the US, to apply for a visa, to gain employment, and more. Testing sessions fill quickly so make your appointment as soon as possible! Register and schedule to test at our location by visiting TOEFL.  

Test Center General Information and Procedures

  1. All candidates must have an appointment prior to arriving at test center.
  2. Valid government-issued photo ID with signature is required; it is the candidate’s responsibility to verify any additional ID requirements by contacting their test sponsor before test day.
  3. Proctoring administrative fees and any other fees are paid on test day in cash in exact change.
  4. Cell phones and other electronics must be turned off and are not permitted in the testing room.
  5. Food and beverages are not permitted in the testing area.
  6. All exams must be completed by closing time.
  7. Lockers are available to store your personal belongings.
  8. The Workforce Professional Test Center follows the weather and other closings and delays of NOVA.  A closing or delay announcement will be reported right on the College’s home page, www.nvcc.edu. For more information click here
  9. ADA Special Accommodations: NOVA makes every effort to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Accommodations are available upon request and according to the test sponsor’s requirements with valid official documentation submitted at least three days prior to test day.
