Online Tutoring

Online Tutoring Hours for Spring 2014: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

If you are a NOVA student and you would like to utilize our FREE tutoring services, but cannot make it to the Woodbridge Campus or Quantico during our tutoring hours, you can try our new Online Tutoring service. Online Tutoring allows you to work with a tutor from the comfort of your own home using Blackboard Collaborate.

Blackboard Collaborate is a Java-based Web conferencing application that allows students to chat or use microphones to speak in real time with tutors. For more information on Blackboard Collaborate or to verify that your computer has the necessary software and hardware requirements to run the application, visit this website.

At this time, online tutors can only assist with writing assignments. In the future, we hope to open this service to students needing help in math and science.

If you are interested in using this service please follow the steps below:

  1. Fill out an Online Tutoring Form. Attach the completed form and the paper you would like to work on with a tutor in an email and send them to wotutoringonline@gmail.com.
  2. Log on to the active Online Tutoring Session in Blackboard Collaborate during our open hours (Monday-Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Note that the session is active 24/7 but tutors are ONLY available during our Online Tutoring Hours.
