For what subjects is tutoring available?

Come to the Tutoring Center in Room 328 on the Woodbridge Campus to request a tutor for any course in which you need help. Tutors are available for Accounting, Anatomy and Physiology, Art, AST, Biology, Chemistry, CSC, Geology, History, IST, Math, Music, Physics, Psychology, Spanish, Q Basic, and Unix. If you need a tutor in a course not listed, complete a request form and we will try to find a tutor for you.

Is there a limit to the number of hours of tutoring each week? An NVCC student can receive up to two hours of tutoring per week free in each subject area he/she needs.

Follow these simple steps:

Complete a Student Application for Tutoring Form available in Room 138 or on the bulletin board outside Room 328, or print copy online. 

Return completed application to Room 328

Check back with Tutoring Center within two days of submitting application. Students will be given a Tutoring Referral with names and phone numbers of tutors in the requested subject are.

It is the student’s responsibility to call the tutor and arrange a time and place for tutoring. Tutoring is usually done on campus but can be done in a public place like a library or community center.
