Black History Month

The Woodbridge Campus celebrates Black History Month with a special presentation by one of the first members of the U.S. Green Berets, Dr. Chalmers Archer, Jr., who went on to become a distinguished scientist and memoirist.  He will be joined by Sgt. Matt Brown, a project manager for Border Protection Services of the U.S. Customs Service.  Sgt. Brown will discuss border patrol.  The event is scheduled for February 21, 2007, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm

Dr. Chalmers Archer, Jr. is the author of two memoirs: Growing Up Black in Rural Mississippi: Memories of a Family, Heritage of a Place and Green Berets in the Vanguard: Inside Special Forces, 1953-1963. He will be joined by Sgt. Matt Brown of the U.S. Customs Service, who will tall about border patrol.  Light refreshments will follow the discussion.
