Fort Belvoir Online Registration Instructions

 
  1. If you have never taken a credit or non-credit class at Northern Virginia Community College or any other Virginia community college, you must complete the Application for Admission at http://apply.vccs.edu.

    1. You will receive your Empl ID/Student ID when you submit your completed application. You will use this Empl ID when you submit your completed application. You will use this Empl ID/Student ID to register for classes.
      Note: It may take up to 72 hours for your application to be fully processed. Therefore, your EMPLID may not be activated for you to register for classes until after a 72 hour period.

  2. If you have taken a credit or non-credit class at Northern Virginia Community College, find your Empl ID/Student ID at http://www.nvcc.edu/novaconnect/student/hdi-emplid.htm.


  3. Have you EMPLID easily available, you will need to it in order to register.


  4. Go to the Military Educational Services – Woodbridge Campus Website at
    http://www.nvcc.edu/woodbridge/Military.


  5. From left navigation, Click “Fort Belvoir Courses” link.



  6. Click on a Course Subject Area for a list of class schedules. (Ex.) Biology, English, etc.




  7. A list of Course(s) being offered will appear.


  8. Click on the Course you are interested in to find out more information, (Ex.) times, locations, dates, etc.




  9. A New Window opens which lists the class description, sections, times, locations, instructors, etc.




  10. Click the “Register On-line” button next to the class section and time you want (if applicable).




  11. This adds the class to your “Course Shopping Cart.”
    Note: You may click the “Course Shopping Cart” icon any time to view courses you have added. Be sure to close the “Cart” Window using the “Close” button or an error may occur.




  12. Choose an Option:
    1. Continuing to Add Classes, Click Here.

    2. Complete Registration Process, Click Here.

    3. Remove a Class from the “Course Shopping Cart,” Click Here.
      Note: You can only remove a class if you have not completed the registration process, if you have completed the registration process you must Drop the class from NovaConnect Web or NovaConnect Telephone, See the list of Important Dates for ADD/DROP/SWAP deadlines without penalty.
 
 

How to Add More Classes

  1. Click the “Back to Schedule” button.




  2. The "Course Shopping Cart" window will close and the Class Schedule List appears where you left off.


  3. Select a New Course Subject Area from the menu above the current course listing.




  4. Repeat Instruction Steps 6-12 to register for more classes.

  5. Note: You can register up to Four (4) Classes per Registration Form. If you want to register for more than Four (4) Classes you will need to submit another Registration Form.
 
 
Finish the Registration Process
  1. Type EMPLID into text Box.


  2. Click “Register” button.




  3. Fill out “Online Registration Form




  4. Review the Form and make sure all information is correct.


  5. Click “Submit Registration” button.




  6. A Confirmation Window will appear, make sure to print this page for you records.

    Don’t forget to PAY for you classes or make arrangements with the college.


 
 
Remove a class from “Course Shopping Cart.”
  1. Uncheck the box next to the Class you no longer want to register for.

  2. Click “Recalculate” button.




  3. The “Course Shopping Cart” will update and the class will not appear.
