  • Schedule Adjustments (add/drop/swap -- on NovaConnect) without Permission: August 25-September 1
  • Labor Day Holiday for Faculty, Staff and Students: September 1
  • Schedule Adjustments with Permission (adds -- in person only; drops -- on NovaConnect): September 2-11
  • Last Day for Schedule Adjustments with Tuition Refund: September 11
  • Last Day to Apply for Graduation: October 1
  • Last Day to Withdraw Without Grade Penalty or Change to Audit: October 31
  • Thanksgiving Holiday for Faculty, Staff and Students: November 26-28
  • Classes and Examinations End: December 21
  • Tuition payment deadline if you register by July 31: August 1
  • Tuition payment deadline if you register July 31or after:
     you must pay your tuition before 5:00pm the next business day or risk being dropped from your class(es).
You can also purchase your textbooks online from the college's bookstore. Pay by credit card, and the bookstore will ship the books directly to you.

NVCC will offer hybrid courses at the Barden Education Center, at Fort Belvoir. Hybrid courses combine web-based instruction with face-to face instruction, reducing the time spent in the classroom. Students will meet in the classroom on the night listed in the schedule. Students will be given on-line work (the equivalent of 3 classroom hours or work) to complete prior to the next class meeting.

  • Distance learning courses start at the beginning of the semester, but many of the Extended Learning Institute's (ELI) distance learning courses also have additional sections starting throughout the semester. For new course section availability, check the listing and register via NovaConnect.
