| Project Description |
 |
 |
| The CASE Project provides the framework for school divisions in the Prince William County geographic area, Northern Virginia Community College, and George Mason University to deliver professional development for school personnel in institutions where the LEP population is increasing. Project activities focus on providing development opportunities in foreign language learning, TESOL, diversity training, career training, and speech communications in a multicultural environment. The project encourages participation from all levels of instructional personnel – K-12 and classroom teachers, counselors, administrators, and paraprofessionals. The CASE Project offers activities that encourage the development of multicultural knowledge and understanding. That knowledge and understanding in turn enhances teaching and learning in the classroom. Improved teaching and learning in the classroom increases student engagement leading to increased retention and success through graduation from high school and entry into the Commonwealth’s workforce. Data have shown for many years that the largest percentage of non-high-school-completers comes from the ESOL minority populations. |
