Prior to the first day of class, go to MyNOVA portal to look up your UserName and Password. On the first day of class, you will use this information to log in to Blackboard and begin.

These are 6-week classes providing one lesson a week with an assignment to be completed before the next week’s lesson. Students must have a website to put their assignments on. Several choices are provided in the Course Information section of the class.

Every Wednesday (from the first day of class to the last week), the week’s assignment will be available (at 12:00am). The classes will be provided in PDF format.

Interaction with each student will be via the discussions. Problems, questions and the posting of the assignment URLs will be placed on the discussion board. I will check the board at least twice a day.

The assignments for the week’s lesson are posted in the Assignment section of the class. Students will receive a certificate of completion if they have participated in the discussions and have posted all 6 class assignments for the course.

Learn to create Web sites using the popular Microsoft program Expression Web 4, although any version will be fine as there are only a few version 4 specific components. This class will introduce you to the program and its various components and interface. Create a basic web site, assign attributes, hyperlinks and images to your site and learn document control and placement. Learn to use the predesigned templates and how to modify them, create your own dynamic web templates, Expression Web specific web components, dHTML rollovers and an introduction to Cascading Style Sheets. Tie this all up with publishing your site to the Web. Instructor is a web designer specializing in small business Web sites.

Prerequisite: Knowledge of HTML, XHTML and CSS is highly recommended.
