Professional Food Manager Training

This one day course provides food operators and managers with the information needed to prevent the occurrence of food-borne illness incidents in their facilities. Required standards in the new food regulations, adopted by the Virginia Department of Health, will be reviewed. The course will also cover Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) risk assessment concepts, food-borne diseases, sources of contamination, personal hygiene, safe handling practices, sanitation, pest control, and many others aspects of food service sanitation. Tuition includes the fee to take the Prometric Certified Professional Food Manager exam at the end of class. Results will be mailed directly to you. If you would like to take the test in Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese or Korean, call 703-257-6631 at least two weeks in advance to reserve an exam before registering. Use of a translator during class must be approved in advance by calling 703-257-6631. You must bring the required textbook and a photo I.D. to class. A bag lunch is also suggested.
