These online courses are administered through Blackboard. Please read important information below.

Prior to the first day of class, go to MyNOVA portal to look up your UserName and Password. On the first day of class, you will use this information to log in to Blackboard and begin.

How the classes will work:

These are 6-week classes providing one lesson a week with an assignment to be completed before the next week’s lesson. Display your work using Picasa, Flickr, Snapfish or any other photo site. If you have a website, you can display your work there.

Every Wednesday (from the first day of class to the last week), the week’s assignment will be available (at 12:00am). The classes will be provided in PDF format.

Interaction with each student will be via the discussions. Problems, questions and the posting of the assignment URLs will be placed on the discussion board. Instructor will check the board at least twice a day.

The assignments for the week’s lesson are posted in the Assignment section of the class. Students will receive a certificate of completion if they have participated in the discussions and have posted all 6 class assignments for the course.

Textbook is optional. Information will be given to you by instructor.

Lightroom (Online Course)

Organize and manage your photos using a complete workflow solution which allows you to make modifications non-destructively. The work you do to your photos is not actually done on the photo itself. The information is stored in a catalog. This allows you to experiment and try different things without compromising your original photo.

Prerequisite: strong computer skills. Ability to locate, open, and save files in a Windows environment, be comfortable using a mouse, familiarity with the Internet, the ability to work with multiple browser windows quickly and efficiently.
