What is NOVA's Employment Readiness?

Finding a job that is right for you takes time and effort. If you are a non-native English speaker and this is your first time looking for a job in the U.S., or if you are looking for job advancement, NOVA’s Employment Readiness course can prepare you for this challenge. During the course you will:

  • Receive personalized job search assistance.
  • Prepare a professional resume (CV).
  • Practice job interviews.
  • Complete online and paper job applications.
  • Learn vocabulary related to the U.S. employment market.
  • Improve your communication skills.

To participate in this course you need to:

  • Take an ESL placement test. Call 703-764-7779 or email eslemployment@nvcc.edu to make an appointment.
  • Show documentation for employment eligibility in the U.S.
