NOVA Summer Band Camp

NOVA Summer Band Camp 2012. The Northern Virginia Community College Band Camp is a great opportunity for band students, ages 10-15 years old, to perform with other talented students. Instrumentalists entering 6th through 9th grade will need at least one year of experience on their instrument. The students will participate in large and small group rehearsals and attend daily classes on such topics as audio recording, jazz improvisation, performance skills, camp chorus, world drumming, music composition and piano. Students will perform a final concert for family and friends on Friday afternoon. In addition, students will have the unique opportunity to perform side-by-side with professional musicians in a Friday evening gala concert with the 257th Army Band- "The Band of the Nation's Capital." Students attending the camp can also participate in the Extended Day Jazz Camp Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Space is limited.
