BOC Entrepreneur Roadmap Program
In an effort to provide comprehensive business assistance, the BOC developed a training program for entrepreneurs called "Entrepreneur Roadmap". This program is an intense 2-day, boot-camp style training and is open to anyone interested in learning the steps to open a business. Upon completion, the entrepreneur will have a roadmap with all the tools, skills and information necessary to successfully start a business. This program will be offered on a quarterly basis and the cost is $195.
The BOC Entrepreneur Roadmap Program consists of six 2-hour training sessions designed specifically for the new entrepreneur. Each professionally taught session presents the entrepreneur with a series of must-do steps to take the new entrepreneur from being overwhelmed to a position of confidence in their own ability to successfully start a first business.

BOC Entrepreneur Roadmap Program Overview
I. Program Summary
- Open to anyone interested in starting a business
- 2-day boot camp style training
- Program is offered quarterly: May, August, November, February
- Non-refundable Program Fee: $195.
II. Program Goal: To give the entrepreneur a roadmap with all the tools, skills and information on how to successfully start a business.
III. Program Benefits:

- Obtain technical assistance, business tools and knowledge for starting a business.
- Widen business networking opportunities.
- Connect businesses with NOVA workforce development programs for employee recruitment and training.
Training Topics
- Market Research – This is the most crucial step in starting a business. This session helps entrepreneurs answer questions such as: Is there a market for your goods or services? Who else is doing what you want to do? Where should your business be located? Who is your target market?
- Legal – This session will cover the legality of starting a business: legal structure, permits, licensing requirements, etc.
- Finance – How to finance your business. This session covers the various financing options available to entrepreneurs.
- Accounting – How to manage your money. This session covers the responsibilities of managing your money: financial management, record keeping, tax implications, etc.
- Sales – This session teaches entrepreneurs sales techniques to effectively sell their goods or services.
- Marketing – This session teaches entrepreneurs how to market a business, the importance of a marketing plan, and the different methods for effectively marketing their businesses.
