Are work or family responsibilities preventing you from attending classes on a regular basis? The Extended Learning Institute could be your solution! ELI students take their classes off-campus using a variety of media, including video, computers, audio and video cassette tapes, fax machines, voice mail and printed course materials.

As an ELI student, you can:

Enroll in courses and progress at a pace which is comfortable for you.

Consult with faculty instructors through telephone and e-mail.

Interact with fellow classmates during exam periods, which are conducted on campus.

Earn an Associate in Science (AS) degree entirely through the ELI distance learning option. In collaboration with the Annandale Campus division of Mathematics, Science and Engineering, you can acquire an Engineering degree entirely through home study.

Students enrolled in ELI classes earn the same credit as students enrolled in traditional classes, but the use of state-of-the-art technology enhances the way the material is presented, and allows for more flexibility in scheduling.

If this type of flexible study and scheduling is important to you, a NOVA counselor can help you plan a course of study that fits your personal needs.
