charles britt - stem education coordinator

Prior to joining NOVA, Charles spent more than 12 years working in both technical and project management positions in the US Intelligence Community. A certified cyber security professional, his previous career assignments included senior information systems security officer with the National Counterterrorism Center, special assistant to the assistant deputy director of national intelligence, and executive secretariat to the CIA's Information Security Program Council.

Charles has a strong commitment to addressing the STEM workforce challenge. He volunteered his time serving as past president of the Washington, DC chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, was director of the DC Science and Engineering Fair, and founder of the Center for Minority Achievement in Science and Technology.

Currently, he remains an active advisory board member with the Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance and USA Science and Engineering Festival. Charles earned a bachelor's in information technology from Capitol College and completed graduate coursework in business management at UMUC. He holds professional memberships with the Project Management Institute, IEEE, and the National Black MBA Association. Charles serves as the STEM Education Coordinator for Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax.
