Aleksander Marthinussen - STEM Education CoordinatorI earned a master's in aerospace engineering from Narvik University College in Norway, where I was born and raised. Before relocating to the U.S. in 2008, I worked for the European Space Agency, Norwegian Space Center and Andoya Rocketrange with student outreach and teacher professional development in the STEM field.
During this time I started a Norwegian national student satellite program for higher education institutions, taught electronics at the high school level and launched several student sounding rockets acting as payload supervisor.
While growing up in Norway, I was very involved in basketball and coached local, regional and national teams. I also held leadership positions in local, regional and national clubs and organizations.
Prior to joining SySTEMic Solutions in January 2013, I worked for a non-profit organization in West Virginia with outreach and teacher development geared towards STEM and Aerospace in particular. While in WV I also served as state coordinator and mentor for national STEM competitions such as Real World Design Challenge and Team America Rocketry Challenge. I currently serve as the STEM education coordinator for Prince William County and the cities of Mananssas and Manassas Park.
