student spotlight - anna, high school freshman

I am a freshman in the Advanced Placement Scholars Program at Woodbridge Senior High School. I'm a part of an award-winning robotics team and my favorite subjects are math and science.

I always wanted to pursue a medical career, but as soon as I went to a SySTEMic Solutions summer robotics camp, I realized my passion for engineering and changed my mind. Through SySTEMic Solutions, more opportunities have become available to me, so I can continue doing what I love to do. I'm currently a builder and programmer for two platforms of robotics-VEX at my high school and the FIRST robotics county team, SuperNOVA. My coaches have taught me how to turn my ideas into creations.

The teamwork I've learned through robotics has helped in my chosen field and influenced me in my classes and on the varsity tennis team. I want to be a mechanical or electrical engineer, continue to work with robotics, and ultimately help create a stronger female presence in the engineering workforce.
