NOVA
is committed to serving persons with physical and learning disabilities.
A goal of NOVA is that each qualified student have an equal
opportunity to pursue a college education regardless of disability.
To reach that goal, NOVA will make reasonable accommodations
in providing the course, program and building modifications,
and auxiliary services which are necessary to assure equal access.
NOVA assumes that if you are a student with a disability, you
will assist the College in identifying needed resources and
possible agency sources.
Each campus and the Extended Learning
Institute has identified one or more staff members to assist
you. Areas of assistance include counseling, registration, special
academic needs, and liaison with area rehabilitative service
agencies. Information regarding special parking permits can
be obtained in the Police and Public Safety Office. If
you require any of these special services, you should contact
the special services counselor at least two weeks prior to the
beginning of classes.
Questions of compliance
with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended,
or the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be addressed
to the director of Affirmative Action/Minority and Legal Affairs.
